Wood processing in the Ore Mountains: 2,100 kg transport fan for chips and wood dust
Back to the Roots – ZENNER fans for wood processing in the Ore Mountains
When people think of the Ore Mountains, they picture incense smokers, candle arches and traditional wooden art. But where wood is carved and crafted, dust and chips accumulate – and these need reliable extraction.
That challenge once marked the beginning of ZENNER fans – and remains an important industry today. A long-standing client from the wood processing sector commissioned us with a fan for continuous transport of chips and dust.
Requirements:
-
Airflow: 40,000 m³/h
-
Pressure: 4,900 Pa
-
Medium: dust-laden air, indoor setup
Our solution:
A transport impeller with 1,250 mm diameter, driven by a 90 kW 4-pole motor and regulated via frequency converter. The blades are made of wear-resistant Hardox – perfect for abrasive materials like wood chips.
To ensure early detection of imbalance due to fluctuating material input, a vibration switch was integrated. We also included a condensate drain, inspection opening, and matching transition pieces and compensators.
With a total height of 2,700 mm (incl. accessories) and a total weight of 2.1 t, this fan proves once again: Zenner remains true to its roots – delivering modern solutions for traditional industries.
ZENNER Ventilators – performance rooted in tradition.
Made in Germany.
