Industrial furnace fan with disc silencer – compact, quiet, powerful

This time: a customized fan for use in industrial furnace construction.

Gas-fired furnaces require a reliable supply of high-pressure combustion air for the burners. Silencers are used to minimize the flow noise generated in the process – especially when the intake is free.

But what can be done when space is limited? In such cases, Zenner relies on a particularly compact design with vertically mounted disc silencers – as in this current project.

The industrial furnace fan used is mounted on an extended base frame that directly supports the disc silencer. The 630 mm high-performance impeller is driven directly by a 2-pole 7.5 kW motor via a frequency converter. At an intake temperature of 20°C, the unit achieves a volume flow of 2,650 m³/h and a total pressure increase of 7,000 Pa – compact, efficient, and powerful.
