Radial fan for process engineering – 210,000 m³/h & 43 mbar
Customized design for extreme exhaust air purification
We designed a particularly powerful radial fan for a customer in the process engineering sector whose operating conditions required a customized solution. The fan is installed outdoors—without a roof—on a foundation with vibration dampers.
The task: a volume flow of 210,000 m³/h at a pressure of 43 mbar and a medium temperature of 100 °C. This was achieved with a 1,600 mm impeller, which is driven by a 6-pole 355 kW foot motor in continuous frequency converter operation via an intermediate shaft and coupling.
Since the pumped medium has an aggressive composition, all parts in contact with the medium were made of stainless steel (1.4571). The remaining components could be economically manufactured in painted normal steel (RAL 7001, C2 medium).
The delivery of the 6.2-ton fan was adapted to the dimensions of a 45-foot high cube container. For this purpose, the housing and base were designed separately. The system was supplemented by a cleaning opening, a condensate connection, compensators on both sides, and vibration dampers.
