Robust radial fan for oil mill
Radial fan used at lofty heights: 12 meters above the ground in the oil mill
Some projects take ZENNER fans to even greater heights than the Ore Mountains – for example, 12 meters high in a steel structure outside an oil mill.
The customer required a robust, weatherproof solution for its process, which involved moving a large volume flow at moderate pressure.
The radial fan, directly driven by a 6-pole 37 kW motor, was designed for a volume flow of 50,000 m³/h and a pressure of 1,500 Pa at 20 °C and operated with frequency converter control.
The components in contact with the medium were made of stainless steel 1.4301, while all other steel parts were coated with a light gray C2 medium paint finish for outdoor installation.
An aluminum motor protection roof protects the drive from the elements, while a repair switch and a frequency converter were mounted directly on the base at the customer's request.
A suitable base frame with rubber buffers was provided for integration into the existing steel structure.
The connection to the pipeline was made via DN1250 suction and pressure side adapters with compensators, also made of 1.4301.
With a height of 2.80 m, a length of 1.80 m, a width of 2.90 m, and a weight of 2,000 kg, this project impressively demonstrates that Zenner fans deliver reliable performance even at great heights and in harsh environments.
