Drive types of the Zenner
industrial fans.
Our Zenner centrifugal fans are manufactured exclusively as welded sheet steel constructions and can be driven directly, via a coupling or a V-belt.
All our fans in the basic range are available in numerous design variants.
Direct-driven fans
Impeller is located directly on the motor shaft, direct drive.

Aerodynamic types
Zenner distinguishes between three different aerodynamic types, which are, however, identical or similar in design.
VRZ - Zenner centrifugal fans
- Goal of the VRZ series: high efficiency with clean and low-dust gases
- 34 basic aerodynamic types, 17 impeller diameters each
- With standard asynchronous motors, frequency converters and possible impeller modification, we offer for every operating point that lies within the VRZ characteristic field, a fan with maximum efficiency (if necessary without speed adjustment).
Application limits VRZ:
- Volume flow: from 70 m3/h to 207,000 m3/h
- Total pressure increase: from 50 Pa to 29,000 Pa
- Temperature of the pumped medium: from -20°C to +800°C
- Type of medium to be pumped: all gases and gas mixtures with the exception of some toxic, chemically aggressive as well as explosive gases,
which belong to extreme explosion groups and temperature classes - Explosion protection ATEX is covered by special fans
- Ambient temperature: from -20°C to +40°C or on request
- Vibration stress: for the contractually agreed areas of application
- Solids content: no solids for all VRZ impellers, selected VRZ impellers up to 20g dust per m3 air
- Operating mode: Continuous operation, unless otherwise agreed
VTZ - Zenner transport fans
- Aim of the VTZ series: reliable transport of solids
- 14 basic aerodynamic types, 17 impeller diameters each
- Use of standard asynchronous motors and frequency converters as well as impeller modification
possible in order to achieve optimum and customer-specific operating points in the VTZ characteristic diagram (if necessary also without speed adjustment).
Application limits VTZ:
- Volume flow: from 70 m3/h to 66,300 m3/h
- Total pressure increase: from 50 Pa to 18,900 Pa
- Temperature of the pumped medium: from -20°C to +350°C
- Type of fluid: all gases and gas mixtures with the exception of some toxic,
chemically aggressive as well as explosive gases belonging to extreme explosion groups and temperature classes. - Explosion protection ATEX: covered with special fans.
- Ambient temperature: from -20°C to +40°C or on request.
- Vibration stress: for the contractually agreed areas of application
Solids content: generally up to 200g dust per m3 air for other or more material. - Use of special or ripping fans
- Operating mode: Continuous operation, unless otherwise agreed
VUZ – Free-running circulation fans
- For installation in air handling units that haetheir own enclosed housing, for example as a recirculation fan in industrial ovens and drying systems.
- Equipping the impellers with a multi-diffuser to reduce energy consumption
- 8 aerodynamic types, 17 impeller diameters each
- Use of standard asynchronous motors and frequency converters as well as impeller
modification possible to ensure optimum and customer-specific operating points VUZ characteristic diagram.
Application limits VUZ:
- Volume flow: from 30 m3/h to 130,000 m3/h
- pressure increase: from 50 Pa to 13,500 Pa
- Temperature of the pumped medium: from -20°C to +800°C
- Type of fluid: all gases and gas mixtures with the exception of some toxic, chemically aggressive as well as explosive gases belonging to extreme explosion groups and temperature classes.
- Explosion protection ATEX: covered with special fans.
- Ambient temperature: from -20°C to +40°C or on request.
- Vibration stress: for the contractually agreed areas of use
- Solids impurities: no solids for all VUZ impellers selected VUZ impellers
up to 20g dust per m3 air - Operating mode: Continuous operation, unless otherwise agreed
